PSS's microfinance program aims to increase income, alleviate poverty, and improve the quality of life by providing financing opportunities that ensure income-generating activities (IGA) for the poor. Since its inception, PSS has been relentlessly working to promote entrepreneurship development, enhance capacity, and ensure social protection through the efficient implementation of various financial products under different components of its microfinance program. In compliance with the rules and regulations of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA), PSS has formulated a citizen charter to clearly communicate the transparent policies and procedures applicable to financial services for its target beneficiaries.
One of the primary goals of the PSS Health, Nutrition, and WASH program is to reduce health risks and eliminate malnutrition among mothers, children, and adolescents. We believe that coordination and networking are essential to achieving these objectives, which is why we actively engage with both government and non-governmental sectors. Another important focus of our work is building disaster-resilient infrastructure. We aim to ensure that communities maintain access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) facilities even during emergencies. This not only improves their overall health but also strengthens their resilience against natural disasters.
At PSS, we recognize that climate change and environmental degradation extend beyond ecological issues' they present serious threats to livelihoods, food security, and overall human well-being. Vulnerable populations, especially those reliant on agriculture and natural resources, face disproportionate impacts from extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and changing rainfall patterns. Our Environment, Climate Change Adaptation, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Programme is designed to equip communities with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to adapt to environmental degradation, climate change, and recurring disasters. We are committed to building resilient communities capable of addressing environmental pollution, climate challenges, and disaster risks through community-led initiatives, promotion of green business practices, policy advocacy, and strategic resilience-building.
The Rights and Governance programme by PSS is dedicated to advancing the principles of justice, gender equality, and the rights of children and citizens within communities. The programme places a strong emphasis on building the capacity of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and their networks, empowering individuals to actively engage with local government systems and platforms for access to essential information. At its core, this initiative seeks to amplify peoples influence in decision-making processes and bolster their control over their fundamental rights, all in pursuit of achieving the collective goals of their communities.
Our initiatives focus on conserving agroecology, preserving and developing biodiversity heritage, combating climate change, empowering farmers, and ensuring nutritional security. To achieve these goals, we engage in sustainable agricultural practices, proper management of livestock and aquatic resources, development and promotion of local breed fish farming technologies, and provision of vaccination and medical support for livestock.
